Electronic Application for Assumed Name Certificate

You may download and print the forms listed above and bring them to the Assumed Name Department, or you may fill out the forms online by clicking on the appropriate icon listed below. Electronic submittal of the application is not required.

Assumed Name Certificates must be either notarized or acknowledged before they can be filed with the County Clerk’s office. You may have the assumed name certificate notarized by a notary public or you may choose to have the certificate acknowledged by a deputy in the County Clerk’s office for a fee of $1, in addition to the filing fee. Acceptable forms of payment are cash or check. After submitting the application online, the applicant must appear in person at the Bexar County Clerk’s Assumed Name Department to complete the process.

Submitted online applications will only be held for 5 days. After 5 days the application will be removed from our queue and the applicants will need to fill out the application again.
